World War II Nova Scotia Casualties From research by Wartime Heritage, 3,448 World War II casualties with connection to Nova Scotia have been identified. The list includes names of individuals who died between September 1939 and December 31, 1947, were born in Nova Scotia, were a resident of Nova Scotia at enlistment or had a connection to the province. Over the past month we have added ‘age at death’ updated burial information indicating the location of memorials and cemeteries. The names on the World War II Nova Scotia Casualties pages have been collected from various sources that include the Books of Remembrance in Ottawa, the Canadian Virtual War Memorial (Veterans Affairs), the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the names on Nova Scotia War Memorials, the American Battle Monuments Commission, and other local sources. Post war deaths are related to service. The Nova Scotia County of birth/residence at enlistment is listed. Links to Remembrance and photo pages, where available, can be found on the World War II Nova Scotia Casualties Pages.
