Private Arthur Purcell was the son of Frank G. and
Ellen Purcell, East Petpeswick, Halifax Co., NS
He completed basic training at No 60 CIBTC,
Yarmouth, NS and served in Canada and
Newfoundland until July 18, 1944. He served in
the United Kingdom between July 19, 1944 and
September 3, 1944 and in Northwest Europe
between September 4, and April 7, 1944.
He was killed in action while serving in Holland.
Commemorated on Page 556 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance
Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on November 21
