Gilman Bond Gavel                   Service Number: 3180103 Regiment:   1st Depot Battalion Nova Scotia/ 85th Battalion  Rank: Private Date of Birth: January 20, 1897 Place of Birth: Richfield, Digby Co., Nova Scotia Date of Enlistment: February 4, 1918 Place of Enlistment: Halifax Nova Scotia Age at Enlistment: 21 Height: 5 feet, 10 1/2 inches   Address at Enlistment: Gavelton, Yarmouth Co., Nova Scotia Trade: Farmer Next of Kin: Foreman Gavel (Father) Gavelton, Yarmouth Co., Nova Scotia Religion: Baptist   Gilman Bond Gavel, the son of Forman and Annie Gavel, enlisted at Halifax.  He embarked Halifax April 7, 1918 and arrived in Liverpool, England on April 19, 1918.  While serving in France he was injured, a gun shot wound to his right leg, on October 8, 1918.
