Lyndall Harris Winters 64th Battalion Service No. 469107 Private Date of Birth: May 11, 1896 Place of Birth: Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Date of Enlistment: August 19, 1915 Age at Enlistment: 19 years 3 months (Height: 5 feet 7 1/2 inches) Place of Enlistment: Sussex, New Brunswick Trade: Clerk Religion Baptist Next of Kin: Elizabeth Winters (Mother) Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Lyndall Harris Winters joined the 64th Battalion on August 19, 1915 at Sussex NB. He sailed from Halifax on the S.S. Adriatic on March 31, 1916 and arrived in England on April 9, 1916. He reverted the rank of Private on his own request on July 5, 1916 and became a stretcher bearer until the cessation of hostilities on November 11, 1918. Private Winters was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Canadian Division on July 14, 1916 and joined up with the unit in the field on September 17, 1916 and participated in many battles. After the hostilities ended, he remained in Germany as part of the occupational forces until September 19, 1919. He was discharged on September 20, 1919.
