Vernon was the son of Judson William Crosby (1874-1948) and Caroline Minola Eldridge (1877-1942),
and the husband of Vera Viola Boone Crosby (1902-1975).
Vernon’s siblings were Verna G Crosby (b. 1899), Clara Jeanette Crosby (1902-1982), Hazel Evelyn
Crosby, (1906-1999), Ruth Marion Crosby (1910-2004),
Lester Judson Crosby (1916-1916), and Eva Elizabeth Crosby (1918-2005).
Prior to active enlistment in WWI, Vernon also served with the 29th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery
in Yarmouth, NS.
Vernon served in Canada and in England. He was discharged March 18, 1919, at Halifax, NS.
