Digby Co., Nova Scotia - WWII Casualties Wartime Heritage has identified 99 casualties connected to Digby Town and County in the Second World War (1939-1947) The information on each casualty is from sources that include the American Battle Monuments Commission, the Books of Remembrance in Ottawa, the Canadian Virtual War Memorial (Veterans Affairs), the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the names on Digby County War Memorials, and other local sources. The list of men and women who lost their lives during World War II and include the names of those born in Digby County, sons of Digby Co. born parent(s), connection to Digby by wartime marriage, resident of Digby County at enlistment, and non residents with Digby Co. address at enlistment. The Bear River is the border between the Annapolis and Digby counties of Nova Scotia and thus, splits the Bear River community so that half the community is in Annapolis County and the other half in Digby County. The list includes those with connection to the community of both counties.
