Stanley Harold Wood 709821 Private 78th Battalion February 3, 1893 Yarmouth, NS November 22, 1915 Sussex, New Brunswick 22 5 feet, 7 inches Medium Blue Brown Single (at enlistment) Farmer Baptist Lloyd Wood (Brother) Lakeville, NB Nora Wood (Wife) Centreville, Carleton Co., NB June 6, 1919 (St. John, New Brunswick) December 15, 1984 Stanley Wood was the son of John Rogers Wood (1848-1913) and Adavilla (Hatfield) Wood (1856- 1903). Stanley Harold Wood enlisted with the 104th Battalion in Sussex, New Brunswick, serving in ā€œDā€ Company. He married Nora Hillary Sears (1901ā€“1966) on April 29, 1916 in Woodstock, Carleton Co., NB. He went overseas, on the SS Olympic, disembarking in Liverpool on July 1, 1916 and served with the 78th Battalion in England and France. Stanley and Nora were the adopting parents of George Arthur Wood (1925-1945) George Wood served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was killed in air operations on February 7, 1945 while serving as an Air Gunner with 12th RAF Squadron.
