Stanley Wood was the son of John Rogers Wood (1848-1913) and Adavilla (Hatfield) Wood (1856-
1903).
Stanley Harold Wood enlisted with the 104th Battalion in Sussex, New Brunswick, serving in āDā
Company. He married Nora Hillary Sears (1901ā1966) on April 29, 1916 in Woodstock, Carleton Co., NB.
He went overseas, on the SS Olympic, disembarking in Liverpool on July 1, 1916 and served with
the 78th Battalion in England and France.
Stanley and Nora were the adopting parents of George Arthur Wood (1925-1945) George Wood
served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was killed in air operations on February 7, 1945 while
serving as an Air Gunner with 12th RAF Squadron.
