Eliza was the son of Ambroise and Jane Moulaison. John’s siblings were Ruth Emma Young (1896-1971), Mary Hester Young (1897-1977), Annie Elizabeth Young (1899-1988), Walter William Young (1901-1983), Georgina Gertrude Young (1902-1999), Florence Etta Young (1904-1973), Ethel Thorne Young (1906-1988), Russell Seth Young (1908-1993), Eliza Gibson Young (1910- 2000), Edward Everett Young (1911-1945), Everett Howard Young (b. 1911), and Ernest Robert Young (1914-1999). John’s brother, Lieutenant Edward Everett Young served as a CANLOAN Officer with the 7th Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs, the Duke of Albany's), 15th (Scottish) Infantry Division in the British Army, and was killed in action February 14, 1945. John had served for 3 years and 7 months (since September 9, 1914) as a Sergeant with the Company A, Composite Battalion (Service No. 109) in Halifax, prior to his enlistment for active service in WWI. He served in Canada and in France. He was discharged on demobilisation on June 8, 1919.
