Commemorated on Page 185 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on April 16 Sergeant Ronald Gordon MacLeod, one of nine children, was the son of William Roland MacLeod (1881-1956) and Cora Mae (Schofield) MacLeod (1883-1947, the husband of Margaret (Durling) MacLeod (1914-1993), and the father of Zane Russel and Zeita Rose MacLeod of Bridgetown, NS. He served in Canada between September 9, 1939 and December 21, 1939 , the United Kingdom between from January 1, 1940 and July 13, 1943. He then served in Sicily and Italy. Sergeant MacLeod was killed in action on December 17, 1943.
