  Sergeant Ronald Gordon MacLeod, one of nine children, was the son of William Roland MacLeod 
  (1881-1956) and Cora Mae (Schofield) MacLeod (1883-1947, the husband of Margaret (Durling) 
  MacLeod (1914-1993), and the father of Zane Russel and Zeita Rose MacLeod of Bridgetown, NS.
  He served in Canada between September 9, 1939 and 
  December 21, 1939 , the United Kingdom between 
  from January 1, 1940 and July 13, 1943.  He  then 
  served in Sicily and Italy. 
  Sergeant MacLeod was killed in action on December 
  17, 1943.
