Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on March 14 Flight Sergeant Leonard Alfred Wadman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ernest Wadman, of Five Islands, Colchester Co., Nova Scotia. Prior to his enlistment he was employed with National Defence at the Debert Station, NS On the night of May 30, 1942 Flight Sergeant was the pilot of a bomber with Squadron 78 that failed to return to base after a bombing raid over Cologne, Germany. Two other members of the crew, Flight Sergeant G. A. Welsh of Saskatchewan, and Sergeant W. F. Pickett also failed to return. Veterans Affairs Canada Commonwealth War Graves Commission
