George Alan MacLachlan Lieutenant O-44950 Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve HMCS Valleyfield January 31, 1922 Toronto, Ontario May 13, 1941 Halifax May 7, 1944 22 Halifax Memorial Commemorated on page 374 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on August 8 George Alan MacLachlan was the son of of Commander Kellog Sinclair MacLachlan and Jessie G. MacLachlan, of Montreal, Quebec and the husband of Olga Irene MacLachlan, of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Lieutenant MacLachlan died when his ship, HMCS Valleyfield was torpedoed and sunk on May 7, 1944, by U-548
