Commemorated on page 375 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance  Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on August 9 Private MacNeil was the son of Lauchlin and Christina MacNeil, of St. Peter's, Richmond Co., NS. On the night of March 5, 1944, Private MacNeil was a member of a twelve man patrol proceeding toward the Arielli River valley when they came under enemy fire. He was killed in the action.
