Commemorated on page 183 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance (Newfoundland) Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on April 2, July 20, October 31 Alexander was the son of William Daniel and Katherine Munro, of Glenwood, Newfoundland. He was a resident of Hubbards, Halifax Co., NS when he enlisted in the RCAF. Halifax V LK705 from 431 Squadron took off at 20:27 from Croft on a mining operation in the Baltic Sea. It was attacked by a German night fighter while and crashed at 23.43 hours killing the crew of seven.
