Alexander was the son of William Daniel and Katherine Munro, of Glenwood, Newfoundland. He
was a resident of Hubbards, Halifax Co., NS when he enlisted in the RCAF.
Halifax V LK705 from 431 Squadron took off at 20:27 from Croft on a mining operation in the Baltic
Sea. It was attacked by a German night fighter while and crashed at 23.43 hours killing the crew of
seven.
