His siblings were Albert Allen Warren Urquhart (1914-1995), Leida Belle Urquhart (1918-2014), Marion Elizabeth Urquhart (1919-2011), Russell Frederick Urquhart (1923-1923), Graham Smith Urquhart (1924-1965), Robert Lionas Urquhart (1926-1998), Alfred Richard Urquhart (b. 1928), Alice Beatrice Urquhart (1929-2024), Virginia Mae Urquhart (1931-2024), William David Urquhart (1933-2020), and Joyce Barbara Urquhart (1937-2016). Ships served in and postings: December 5, 1940 * Commenced Active Service as a Stoker 2nd Class, RCNVR January 22, 1941 Drafted to HMS Montclare, Armed Merchant Cruiser March 26, 1941 Drafted to HMCS Stadacona May 16, 1941 Drafted to HMCS Saskatoon May 22, 1941 Drafted to HMCS Arvida, Flower-class Corvette. October 15, 1942 * Rated Acting Leading Stoker, RCNVR March 1, 1943 Drafted to HMCS Stadacona March 25, 1943 Drafted to HMCS Cornwallis June 1, 1943 Drafted to HMCS Stadacona October 15, 1943 * Rated Leading Stoker, RCNVR November 26, 1943 Drafted to HMCS Hochelaga II December 8, 1943 Drafted to HMCS VALLEYFIELD as part of the commissioning crew. February 1, 1944 * Rated Acting Stoker Petty Officer, RCNVR March 1, 1944 * Rated Chief Stoker, RCNVR while employed in that position. Assigned to the HMCS Valleyfield from its commissioning, Harold died when the HMCS Valleyfield was torpedoed and sunk May 7, 1944. Having died at sea with no known grave, Harold is remembered on Panel 12 of the Halifax Memorial within the grounds of Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, NS. The lost crew members are also honoured at a dedicated monument in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec.
