Commemorated on Page 375 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance Displayed in the Memorial Chamber of the Peace Tower in Ottawa on August 9 Daniel Thomas MacNeil was the son of Daniel Joseph MacNeil (1896-1975) and Mary Belle (MacKinnon) MacNeil (1895-1947), of Inverside, NS. He served with the RCAF between July 27, 1943 and January 26, 1944. He was discharged when it was determined he was under-age at enlistment. He was hospitalized at Camp Hill Hospital in April 1944 and died November 8, 1944 as a result of a brain tumor. He was buried in the family plot in the Broad Cove Chapel (St. Margaret) Cemetery, NS.
