He was the husband of Sarah (McRae) Robinson (1893–1985). They married in River John, Pictou Co., NS on October 27, 1915 and had seven children between 1916 and 1933. Family members used both ‘Robison’ or ‘Robinson’ as spelling of their last name.Master Sergeant Robison served on the SS Elijah White, a United States Liberty ship. The ship was constructed and launched in 1942. James Robison died on January 28, 1946 in the 249th General Hospital, Manila, Philippines at the age of 60. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Philippines.
