US July 15, 1944 19 Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Plot F, Row 10, Grave 78 John Joseph Meuse, Jr. was the son of John Joseph Meuse (1892–1926; b. Quinan, Yarmouth Co., NS) and Rose Clara [LeBlanc] Meuse ( 1894–1968; b. Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., NS). He was the brother of Mary Elizabeth Meuse (1918–2011), Dorothy Meuse (b. 1919), Josephine Lousie Meuse (1920–1990), and Lorette Marguerite Meuse (1923–2012). The family lived in Wakefield, Middlesex, Massachusetts. John enlisted in Boston in February, 1943, and served with the 128th Infantry 32nd Division, US Army. He would have joined the 128th Infantry while it was stationed in Australia. He was killed in action while fighting in north coast of Papua New Guinea in the Sandaun Province. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery, Philippines. His name is commemorated on the family grave stone in Saint Patricks Cemetery, Stoneham, Mass.
