  Joseph Harold Weaver was the son of Francois Evé Weaver (1879-1967) and Emma Auralie (Soucie) Weaver 
  (1880-1964), of St. Bernard, Digby Co., Nova Scotia, and the brother of Marie Cora (Weaver) Malloy (1907-
  1988), Joseph Camille Weaver (1910-1979), Marie Catherine Francoise (Weaver) d’Entremont (1912-2002), 
  Marie Jennie (Weaver) Blinn (1914-1998), Marie Anna (Weaver) Cunningham (1915-1986), Joseph Kenneth 
  Weaver (1920-2000), and Joseph Edward Weaver (1924-2021). 
  Harold’s brother Kenneth served in the Merchant Navy, and Edward also served in the armed forces. 
  Joseph served in the Non-Permanent Active Militia (NPAM) or Reserves, in March – April 1943, and then 
  trained at No. 60 Canadian Infantry Basic Training Centre (CIBTC), known as Camp 60, from June 7 to June 
  18, 1943. He subsequently transferred to the A14 Canadian Infantry Training Centre (A14 CITC) at Aldershot 
  in Kings County, NS, for advanced training until October 26, 1943, and then assigned to 1st Training Brigade 
  Group in Debert, Nova Scotia.
  He departed Canadian on December 15, 1943, and disembarked in the United Kingdom December 21, 1943.
  Harold departed England on February 19, 1944, and landed in Italy on March 3, 1944, with the Cape Breton 
  Highlanders.
  Private Joseph Harold Weaver was killed in action in Italy on September 1, 1944. He is interred at the 
  Montecchio War Cemetery in Italy.
