Clifford Bury was the son of John Henry Bury and Alice (Shannon) Bury, of Windsor Ontario.
After passing his entrance examination to high school in June, 1939, Clifford entered the Windsor-
Walkerville Vocational High School in September 1939 and enrolled in the four-year technical program. He did not return for the
fourth year but joined the Ford Motor Trade School in Windsor as an apprentice toolmaker.
He was employed as a Soda Jerk at Lanspeary’s Ltd., in 1941 and 1942, and then at the Ford Motor Trade School until his
enlistment. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, swimming, and hockey.
He trained at No. 1 Flight Engineer School in Arnprior, Ontario between April 24, 1944 and June 2, 1944. He then continued his
Flight Engineer Technical training at St. Thomas, Ontario until September 1, 1944. He was then posted to RCAF Station Aylmer,
Ontario.
On November 15, 1945, he was admitted to Aylmer Hospital where his health declined. He was diagnosed with lymphatic
leukemia. Clifford Bury died on February 15, 1945 and on February 19, 1945, he was buried in the Windsor Grove Cemetery.
