Flight Sergeant Edward Charles Dufresne went oversea embarking at Halifax on May 3, 1944 and disembarking in the United
Kingdom on May 10, 1944. He was assigned to 44 RAF Squadron on November 22, 1944.
Lancaster I SW251 with a crew of seven, including Flight Sergeant acting as Air Gunner, departed RAF Spilsby, Lincolnshire, England
at 19:48 hrs. on a raid against Karlsruhe, Germany. Surrey, England. At approximately 23:00 hrs. the aircraft was observed
exploding in air and crashing near the village of Staffort, Germany. Post war the bodies were reburied in the Durnbach War
Cemetery, Germany.
