Eric Alic Fedi Flight Sergeant R/172702 77 RAF Squadron; Royal Canadian Air Force March 3, 1924 (Actual 1926) Moore Park, Manitoba July 13, 1942 Winnipeg, Manitoba Winnipeg, Manitoba 18 (Actual 16) 5 feet, 6 inches Medium Blue Brown Single Student Presbyterian Frances Alexandria Fedi (Mother) September 7, 1943 17 Runnymede Memorial, United Kingdom Panel 181 Flight Sergeant Eric Alic Fedi went overseas disembarking in the United Kingdom on January, 12, 1943. He was assigned to 77 RAF Squadron on March 26, 1943. On the night of September 6/7, 1943, aircraft Halifax II DT 793 departed RAF Elvington, Yorkshire at 7:18 pm on a bombing operation over Munich, Germany with a crew of seven including Flight Sergeant Fedi serving the mid-gunner. The aircraft was lost without a trace. This was the 21st air operation by Flight Sergeant Fedi. He was also the air gunner on Halifax JB 852 the night of April 3, 1943 an operational flight to bomb Essen. That aircraft was hit by flak while over the target but the crew were able to make a safe return to base and landed at RAF Elvington at 00.37 hrs. Twelve holes were found in the aircraft.
