Row 5. Grave 76. Aircraftman 2nd Class Lorne Thomas Moyes was taken on strength at No 1 “M” Depot on August 27, 1943. On September 12, 1943, while off duty, he was in a canoe in Hamilton Bay in Lake Ontario when it capsized and he was thrown into the water. He grasped the canoe for a short time but finally relinquished his grasp and sank into the water resulting in death by drowning. His body was recovered from Hamilton Bay on September 13, 1943.
