Reginald enlisted as Reginald Curtis ‘Allright’. His siblings were Donald John Alride (1911- 1988), Ruth (Alride) Piggott (b. 1912), Mildred Louise (Alride) Sabean (1914-2012), and Evelyn Ida Alride (b. 1920). His half brothers were Howard Lloyd Alride and Carmen Alex Alride from his father’s second wife Sarah Ann Howard (1896-1992), a teacher in Weymouth Falls, whom his father married after Reginald’s mother died in 1925. Reginald’s father, a millwright, died in 1935 from typhoid fever from impure water while working at the Sissiboo dam. Reginald’s stepmother remarried Cecil Allister Cosman (1905-1982) in 1942. Reginald enlisted in September of 1939, from Middleton, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia, and completed attestation papers in Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., NS. Private Alride was involved in a motor car accident and admitted to the Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Middleton on November 1st and died November 2, 1939. He was interred November 5, 1939, at the Church Grove Cemetery in Melvern Square, Annapolis Co., NS.
